NWMPHN’s catchment is one of the largest and heavily populated in Australia. It covers 3,212 square-kilometres, extending from Melbourne’s CBD and inner city suburbs, through major growth areas and out to rural areas beyond the metropolitan boundaries.
The region includes 3 of the fastest growing LGAs in the country – Wyndham, Melton and Hume – which collectively house 36 per cent of its population. By 2030, NWMPHN’s catchment area is expected to contain 2.4 million people – roughly half a million more than currently live within it.
